Adolfo Suaya, the Argentine-American restaurateur who has populated Southern California with numerous restaurant and bar concepts including Gaucho Grill, Dolce, the Lodge, and Osaka, has his eyes set on Hollywood. As if it were not ambitious enough to secure the $35 million project of The Whiskey Hotel, currently under construction, Suaya will also bring a new restaurant to Hollywood Boulevard.

Robata Jinya from Tomo Takahashi will settle into 6529 Hollywood Boulevard at the corner of N Hudson Avenue and Hollywood Boulevard. The 3,000-square-foot restaurant will have a modern, industrial setting that features Japanese cultural and design elements including an impressive samurai mural. While the design will be concurrent with its existing brand, Robata Jinya will incorporate the vibrant ambiance known to Suaya’s numerous bar and restaurant concepts.

Robata Jinya will offer an exquisite sushi menu. In addition to the classics, the signature sashimi will include Yellowtail Jalapeño with yuzu citrus soy sauce, Seared Albacore with crispy onion, and Kinmedai with organic dry miso. Signature rolls range from the California Dynamite (baked baby scallop dynamite, eel sauce, California roll) to the Bluefine Toro Uni Roll (bluefin toro, sea urchin and lumpfish caviar on top of blue crab, avocado and asparagus roll) and the Miyazaki Wagyu Uni Roll (sliced seared Miyazaki A5 wagyu, sea urchin and lumpfish caviar on top of charcoal grilled wagyu teriyaki roll with crispy garlic and chive).

Although an official opening has yet to be announced, we will be sure to keep you updated on when to expect Robata Jinya to open its doors on Hollywood Boulevard.
