Tooth and Nail, a winery based in Paso Robles, is opening two tasting rooms in Los Angeles. The Echo Park store, located at 1498 W Sunset Blvd, should be open by the end of May, owner Rob Murray told What Now Los Angeles. They are also planning something in Century City at a currently undisclosed location, but Murray did mention that it will be “in a cool spot” and should be open closer to Thanksgiving

“Our new locations will be fine-tuned to tastings and wine education. We have more than 50 SKUs of wine, from Gamay Noir to Malbec to Ugni Blanc, and we always aim to get people to try something a little different than wines they normally drink,” said Murray.

“At our tastings, customers usually get around five to six tastes of our wine. Our stewards guide them through the process and describe what they’re tasting, the varieties and farming techniques. It’s a fun experience above and beyond having a great glass.”

Murray also plans to bring Tooth and Nail’s “20 Mile Local” program to the L.A. outposts, which features local products from purveyors within 20 miles of the winery. However, they might restrict L.A.’s program to only “5 Mile Local.”

“In Paso Robles, we like to bring in local cheeses, salamis, baked goods, things that add to the wine experience on the food side. For Echo Park, we are hoping to partner with Gyoza Bar across the street and have them bring some small bites over,” Murray added.

The new stores will also have a retail side where Tooth and Nail’s full line of products will be available for purchase. “We’re really focused on featuring SKUs that aren’t really available at other retailers.”

“We have a large group of wine club members from the L.A. area and we’re hoping to find new family members in Echo Park and Century City,” concluded Murray.
