Franchisee Emmanuel Avila recently signed a two-unit franchise agreement with the company to open a new location in the Del Amo Fashion Center Mall before the holiday season, hopefully by Thanksgiving. The new franchisee, who also owns Shark Attack, LLC, has also signed a long-term location for Las Americas Premium Outlets in the Camino De La Plaza in San Diego, California, expected to open in the Spring of 2023. This is only the beginning for founder Fen Reyes.

Uncle Sharkii has seen non-stop growth this year and recently signed an Area Development deal for 30 units in the Greater Houston area. On top of that, several other new agreements are in various stages of development in Hawaii, Arizona, Utah, California, and Nevada. Currently, the poke chain restaurant can be found in California, Hawaii, Texas, and, most recently, Utah.

Avila is a perfect candidate for those franchise agreements. The El Centro-born restaurateur was raised by his mother and his four brothers as a third-generation American. Now living in Torrance, his personal and professional career has led him to become a hard-working individual who strongly believes in perseverance and family.

“I chose Uncle Sharkii because I felt that instant connection and support of family with Ray and Fen,” Avila said in a press release. “They know well what a family feels like – I grew up with four brothers. Family could never be too big. To be successful, we need that family support, and with Uncle Sharkii, it’s family first and people always.”
