El Centro Apartments & Bungalows, a newish mixed-use development in the heart of Hollywood, at 6200 Hollywood Blvd., in mid-to-late-2020, will start welcoming tenants to its 60,000-square-feet of ground-level commercial space.
Urban Radish Market, pet store Healthy Spot, and internet and cable company Spectrum, are among the first tenants revealed for El Centro, joining the previously-announced Amoeba Music which in February unveiled plans to relocate the development.
“We’re moving to 6200 Hollywood Blvd,” Amoeba said at the time of last month’s announcement.
“We’re going to take up a huge ground-level space on the corner of Hollywood and Argyle in the new ‘El Centro’ complex in downtown Hollywood. This is just 2 blocks east and 2 blocks north of our current location, and right next door to the Fonda Theatre so we’ll be easy to find!”
An opening is expected “sometime after labor day,” Monday, September 7, 2020.
Urban Radish Market, which has one existing location, at 661 Imperial St., is currently in permitting with the City of Los Angeles for the El Centro outpost, a manager for the restaurant told What Now Los Angeles Tuesday.
It will be similar to the existing Urban Radish but “less market and more deli and grill,” they said.
Healthy Spot last week was issued the necessary permits to begin building out its El Centro storefront and is “coming soon,” according to the pet store’s website.
“We’re getting ready to open our doors and share our high-quality dog and cat food, treats and pet supplies, as well as our best-in-class dog grooming, with our new Hollywood neighbors,” the website states.
An estimated $136,000 will be spent on construction which is expected to last a few months.
Spectrum’s new retail store is set for a similar timeline.
