Since its doors closed nearly four years ago, Vespertine has continued to host private events and offer at-home meals. Reopening represents the next chapter for the two-Michelin-starred concept.

“In the spirit of rebirth, the multi-sensory, fine-dining restaurant from Chef Kahn has been renewed to reflect a thoughtful evolution of the ethos of Vespertine and will integrate world class collaborators from perfumers and musicians to designers and artisans,” according to a statement provided by Vespertine’s public relations team. “Dining at Vespertine will be an ethereal journey throughout various distinct, transportive spaces within the building accompanied by enveloping hospitality. Chef Kahn will work with partners who share the utmost commitment to growing and raising conscientious and nutritious food.”

Vespertine’s website explains, “The project was formed through a collaboration with architect Eric Owen Moss, and a group of renowned artists to re-imagine and explore the experience of dining. The convergence of food, art, architecture, music, and sculpture is woven throughout to create an immersive, multi-sensory event.”

Vespertine’s PR team didn’t give an exact opening date, just “early 2024.”

Chef Kahn originally hails from Savannah, Georgia and studied at Johnson & Wales University in Charleston, South Carolina when he was a teenager. After graduating, he worked under Chef Thomas Keller at the French Laundry and other culinary legends like Grant Achatz and Michael Mina. Today, Kahn is often referred to as a “genius” and also helms Meteora and Destroyer in L.A.
