At the time of the fire in December 2018, Wabi was planning on reopening in the space, at 1637 Abbot Kinney Blvd.

“Currently closed” but “we will be back,” a landing page for the restaurant still indicates a year later.

That no longer seems likely according to a recent listing by Conroy Commercial seeking a “tenant, owner-operator, or an investor to operate and/or own” the “prime piece of highly sought after restaurant real estate.”

“Three years ago the space was beautifully updated and business was booming more than ever,” according to the listing.

“Unfortunately, in December 2018 the rear portion of the building was burned beyond repair.”

Ownership is in the process of entitling and permitting the building, including a reconfiguration of the space’s layout, according to official documents obtained Thursday by What Now Los Angeles (WNLA).

Once complete, the refurbished restaurant unit will offer space for 141 seats across 3,036 square feet.

Permitting for the core and shell of the building is expected to be completed by the end of Q1, 2020.

Delivery of the space to a would-be tenant is expected by Q2, 2020.

Rent is priced at $162.00 per square foot per year and does not include utilities, property expenses, or building services.

Conroy’s Jeff Gray, the leasing rep for the project, on Thursday told WNLA the space is “still for lease with a few prospects.”
