City Gives Brookfield Properties Green Light To Go Vertical on 64-Story, 960 W 7th Street Tower

DTLA skyscraper will sit adjacent FIGat7th.

Commercial real estate developer Brookfield Properties on Friday was issued the necessary permits by the City of Los Angeles to go vertical on its under-construction residential tower, at 960 W 7th Street. The project in some places is listed as 755 S. Figueroa.

Site work, which began a year ago, has been completed on the 64-story building (56 of which are liveable) including shoring, erecting two cranes, and excavating for the project’s foundation, and now, with the latest approvals from the city, Brookfield can begin construction on the actual structure. An estimated $259,597,503 will be spent on this portion of the project, according to the permit.

Once complete in 2022—per a project splash page—960 W. 7th Street will boast 784 apartments available in studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom configurations above an 831-car garage.

Reps for Brookfield on Monday did not immediately respond to a request for comment by What Now Los Angeles. Brookfield owns the adjacent FIGat7th mall and is developing the nearby Halo project which has added S.O.L. to its restaurant lineup.
