Little Llama Peruvian Tacos has finally started building out its long-planned DTLA restaurant.
The City of Los Angeles last week issued the necessary permitting for construction to begin on the ground level of the STOA Apartments, at 222 South Main Street, for Little Llama.
Building out the 3,411-square-foot restaurant and its 611-square-foot uncovered patio is expected to cost at least $250,000, according to the plans.
“It’s a big day for [Little Llama Tacos]…,” the restaurant late-Tuesday posted in an Instagram message to its most loyal followers.
“Construction has began on our first brick-and-mortar!”
An exact opening timeline is still TBD but after announcing in February Little Llama would open in DTLA this past summer, at least progress is actually being made now, “one wall at a time.”
“Thanks to all of you who have supported us up to this very huge step,” the social media post continues.
“We couldn’t be more grateful, or excited!”
Little Llama’s Smorgasburg booth, at 777 S. Alameda St., reopens January 12 post-holiday season.
