A new Gordon Ramsay restaurant may be planned for the second level of The Culver Steps development. GRNA (Gordon Ramsay North America) Culver City LLC has filed for a Conditional Use Permit for a 7,541-square-foot restaurant space, directly across from Amazon Studios.
What Now Los Angeles reached out for more information, but has received no word back on when the restaurant will open or which of Ramsay’s many restaurants will open at the site.
In June of 2019, news broke that Lion Capital, a private equity firm in Los Angeles and London, planned to invest $100 million into Ramsay’s empire across five years. With this, Forbes reported that the joint venture hopes to open 100 new locations across the U.S. by 2024. As many as a dozen or more Ramsay restaurants could come to greater Los Angeles, according to Eater LA.
On Bizapedia, GRNA LLC has a principal address of 100 Wilshire Boulevard, Suite 1400, in Santa Monica, California. This is the same address as Lion Capital, according to Yellow Pages.
As part of this deal, three restaurants are expected to expand across the nation: Gordon Ramsay Steak, Gordon Ramsay Pub & Grill, and Gordon Ramsay Fish & Chips. Also expected to be introduced to the U.S. are Gordon Ramsay Street Pizza and Gordon Ramsay Bread Street Kitchen.
The Culver Steps is located between The Culver Studios and The Culver Hotel, at the intersection of Culver and Washington boulevards. The four-story building features 75,000 square feet of office space, 40,000 square feet of retail space, a 35,000-square-foot public plaza, and two levels of subterranean parking. The office space has been fully leased by Amazon Studios.
The adjacent Culver Studios is currently undergoing a major $620 million expansion, nearly doubling in size. When complete, the studios will offer 720,000 square feet of office and production space. Amazon is set to lease more than 70 percent of the project for its production arm, Amazon Studios. Amazon’s Culver City offices are slated to open by March 2021, according to ArchDaily. Culver Studios has been utilized for film classics like Gone with the Wind, A Star is Born, and TV shows like Arrested Development, The Nanny, and Scrubs.
Both projects are being built by Hackman Capital Partners.
