According to a recent post on the business’ Facebook page, the team will host the grand opening on July 26, followed by their inaugural Summer Olympics opening day viewing party. “We are so amped to create a space that celebrates women’s sports and screams inclusivity, from our venue to our menu, and can’t wait to see you and your friends there!” says the post.

The idea to open a sports bar started for Diener in her twenties. She had written up plans, including schematics and decor, and even went to bartending school, but ultimately couldn’t get it off the ground due to finances. Now, more than 30 years later, her dream is finally coming to fruition.

“Once Jackie caught wind of the first of its kind women’s sports bar, she immediately followed every step of their development, and when considering next steps, Jackie decided to partner with her wife, Megan, to go out on their own and do the thing!” says Watch Me’s website.

Heading up the kitchen is Chef Charlie Ray, who placed top 3 in “The World Cook” traveling cooking competition and has competed on Food Network’s “Battle of the Decades.” She also previously served as head chef of the award-winning company, Värt: Sustainable Food Lab, in Gothenburg, Sweden.
