Jan’s Health Bar, a health-focused restaurant that’s been in business since 1972, is set to open its first location in Long Beach in the coming months.
Jan’s first opened in Huntington Beach over 50 years ago and has since expanded to six open locations throughout Orange County. Its Long Beach outpost will take over the former Pacific Coast Style space at 6232 E. Pacific Coast Hwy.
Owner Poppy Holguin purchased the restaurant from Jan herself in 2010. Having grown up eating at Jan’s, she had been a fan of its locally loved tuna salad, sandwiches, soups and smoothies since childhood.
“I truly believed—and still do—in the brand and product and respected what Jan had created over the last 38 years,” Holguin told Longbeachize.
Holguin could not be immediately reached for comment.
