Albert Shim’s breakfast and lunch eatery EggBred will soon open a Long Beach outpost at 777 East Ocean Boulvard on the ground floor of the Shoreline Gateway tower. The branch will be helmed by Zach and Goldie Bolden who have been in the process of taking over the space since the franchise agreement was signed in November of 2022.

Per Longbeachize.com, “[The Boldens] had hoped to open in the spring of this year but have seen setbacks as the space required an entire build-out — Shoreline’s commercial spaces do not have kitchens pre-built, for example — on top of permitting, training, and brand coordination.”

EggBred boasts locally sourced and hand-crafted breakfast and lunch in a fast-casual format. Some notable menu items include Scramble Me Softly (soft scrambled cage-free eggs, chives, caramelized onions, sharp cheddar, and smoked paprika spread on a toasted milk bun), the Ribeye Steak & Egg sandwich, the Black Forest Ham breakfast burrito, and The Breakfast Poutine (beer-battered potatoes, buttermilk popcorn chicken, country sausage gravy, soft poached cage-free egg, cheddar jack, roasted pepper chimichurri and chives in a bowl).

An interview with the Boldens is forthcoming.
