The restaurant will move into the former home of Brio Coastal Bar and Kitchen, next to Frida’s Mexican Cuisine. This will become the sixth location in California, with sites in Santa Monica, El Segundo, Irvine, and two in San Diego. North Italia is just one of many new restaurants coming to the shopping center, including Keisuke Ramen, sweetgreen, Slater’s 50/50, Starbucks Kiosk, and a new restaurant called Kitchen of Korea. All these restaurants, including the new North Italia, are expected to open before the end of the year.

North Italia started from Fox Restaurant Concepts, founded by Sam Fox, a 10-time James Beard Award semifinalist for Restaurateur of the Year. The restaurant group, which also includes Flower Child, reached its peak with 47 restaurants across eight states and Washington D.C. Then, in late 2019, Fox Restaurant Concepts and North Italia were sold to The Cheesecake Factory Incorporated for $308 million. Now, North Italia has 33 locations across the country, including new locations coming soon to Atlanta and Houston.

“We use only the best ingredients to create and serve consistently crave-worthy food, like our chef’s choice daily pizza and fresh pasta made from scratch daily,” according to the company’s website. “To us, nothing is quite as satisfying as sharing a dish of handmade pasta and savoring every bite, sip, and moment with the people who matter most. From the warmth that draws you in, to the vibrant energy letting you know you’re in for something special, the North experience invites you to indulge in not just what you taste, but what you feel.”
