Carla Cafe, the pandemic-era sandwich sensation by Avi Ahdoot, has found a permanent home in Beverly Grove. The new shop has been getting ready to open since February, and followers are chomping at the bit to get their hands on the Instagram famous sandwiches. “Just stop with the food foreplay and open that damn place up!” one user commented on a recent Instagram post.

Carla Cafe’s journey began in May 2020 when former tech professional Ahdoot started taking sandwich orders via Instagram DMs for family and friends. Appetites for Ahdoot’s creations quickly exploded, leading him to start an Instagram account just for the public sales. Eventually, he began offering pickups at Bootsy Bellows before settling into Carla’s current home at the Colony ghost kitchen.
The new brick-and-mortar will initially serve breakfast and lunch, with plans to introduce dinner later on. Menu offerings will include breakfast burritos, coffee, matcha, and, of course, Carla’s signature sandwiches like their beloved garlic aioli chicken and tuna chop.
Though an exact opening date is pending, signage is already up at the new address on 8432 West 3rd St. and they recently applied for a liquor license at the site.
