The new restaurant will replace Cuscatleca Bakery by Winter 2021, with its lease starting next month. SoCal Biscuit Co. will sit in a 1,500 square-foot space in the same lot as Marielas Tacos. The company is owned and operated by husband-wife duo Michael and Deborah Lazer.

Although the restaurant hasn’t released any information regarding what they will serve, customers can expect an assortment of breakfast specials served with the restaurant’s namesake item. Customers might expect to find a Southern California twist to the menu with spicier options given the name. It is unknown at this time if the restaurant will stay open for dinner. Regardless, Echo Park will be treated to a brand new restaurant very soon.

Although biscuit-centric restaurants are limited in the Echo Park area, SoCal Biscuit Co. will have some tough competition once it opens. Some local favorites in the area include Happy Tom’s Restaurant, All Day Baby, Millies Cafe, and Cafe Tropical. SoCal Biscuit Company will sit right on Sunset Boulevard, giving the restaurant easy visibility for new customers.
