The Cliffdiver, a stylish Mexican eatery with coastal vibes, has leased space inside Found Santa Monica, a hotel powered by Sonder’s mobile-first technology. Owner Ivan Torres told What Now Los Angeles that the team is in the middle of procuring permits and aiming to open in May.

“We’ll be operating two separate spaces, the sit down restaurant and the lobby bar,” explained Torres.

“The new location will serve all of our signature items like our lobster tacos (our #1 seller), surf and turf burrito, and ceviche, but will also have dishes unique to that restaurant. There will be a bar with margaritas and signature cocktails.”

When asked how they landed on this spot, Torres shared, “We’re certainly very happy and excited about opening up at the Found hotel. I think that part of Santa Monica Boulevard in particular could use another full service restaurant option.”

As for future restaurants, the brand is eventually hoping to open between three to five Cliffdivers in the SoCal area, specifically in Los Angeles and Ventura.

The Cliffdiver also has a location in Thousand Oaks that boasts a menu of Cali Mex mainstays like burritos, carne asada fries, enchiladas, and of course, its signature lobster tacos. It also has daily specials, happy hour and bottomless brunch.

Torres encourages Mexican food lovers to follow them on Instagram at @cliffdivercali.
