The new 4,000-square-foot restaurant will sit at the corner of Melrose and Larchmont with an 850-square-foot patio. Tonchin expects to open this new location in Fall 2022, hoping to launch sometime in September, according to Eater. The LA site will be the third U. S. location, following Midtown Manhattan and Brooklyn. Both locations have been recognized by Michelin, earning a Bib Gourmand. When the new site opens, customers can expect  “refined” ramen, quality desserts, and sleek decor.

Tonchin was founded in Tokyo, Japan, in 1992 by brothers Katsuhiro and Motohiro Sugeno. The company has since expanded to its current locations, as well as a chain of sites in Japan. Twenty-five years after the first opening, Anan Sugeno set out to bring Tonchin to America. With a team of trusted New Yorkers and help from his father, Katsuhiro, Anan brought Tonchin New York to life. Now the international brand will try its luck in Los Angeles, moving into a fast-growing restaurant scene.

When this new location opens, customers can expect a variety of Japanese staples such as tsukemen, tonkotsu, and mazemen-style ramen bowls. Like its New York sites, the Larchmont location will serve small snacks, including wings, gyoza, rice balls, and more. Finally, guests can expect plenty of delicious cocktails to complement each meal. The company is currently searching for staff to soon move into the former home of Le Petite Marche.
