Giugno tells What Now Los Angeles that The Deck, opening in the Winter of 2023, will offer 12-inch pizzas cooked to perfection at a consistent 600+ degrees.

Additionally, white and red oak will be used during the cooking process to ensure a clean taste while the oven’s blaze endows each pie’s crust with a unique flavor.

The Deck will also provide diners with a delicious Wagyu Hamburger sourced directly from the downstairs butcher shop.

What’s more, Giugno — a proud Argentinian — tells WNLA that he and Altamirano will manufacture their own craft beers to pair with the simple yet well-considered menu of salads, pizzas, and charcuterie boards. For now, says Giugno, The Deck will serve beer and “nice wine” only, some of which will come from Napa, Santa Barbara, and, of course, his native country.

While the menu is still in the works, confirmed options like the Bone Marrow Pizza — bechamel sauce, grand padano cheese, and shallot marmalade in a red wine jus served with bone marrow — and the Potato Bacon Pizza — white sauce, potatoes, goat cheese crumble, rosemary, and pecorino cheese — are as promising as they are piquant. Furthermore, Giugno’s sophisticated approach to pie curation seems primed to set his eatery apart from the bar food-brewery model’s sometimes predictable nature.

The Deck’s pies range in price from $16 to $28 (The Truffle Pizza — fresh mozzarella in a bechamel sauce, Sabatino black truffle peal, sliced mushrooms, parmesan cheese, and a white truffle oil drizzle).
