Bangin’ Buns, a restaurant with its own take on the exploding popularity of Nashville hot chicken, is opening up its second location. This one will be located where Dragon Wok used to occupy at 1457 Florence Ave. in Huntington Park, Bangin’ Buns’ co-founder Nick Nshanyan confirmed with What Now Los Angeles (WNLA).

Owned and operated by four friends — Nshanyan, Gary Shahbazyan, Sam Menvelyan, and Arman Grigoryan — Bangin’ Buns was conceived mid-conversation in a parking lot but has since taken over brick-and-mortar space in North Hollywood, which has become a “cool hang out spot.”
The new Huntington Park space, however, was “pretty much beat down. It’s not something you could walk in and start cooking,” Nick said of the extent of renovations. Before they take over, any trace of the previous tenant will be removed and replaced with something that better represents its brand. On top of adding murals, Nshanyan wants Bangin’ Buns’ second home to exude everything its first one perfected — a place where a variety of energetic crowds show up to enjoy “the vibe” they set, the music they play, and its special Nashville hot chicken “secret recipe.” Nshanyan believes it’s Bangin’ Buns’ sauce that really sets them apart.
When looking for this second location, Nshanyan said they were really looking for the right demographic and a distance that’s far enough away from North Hollywood. The goal is to spread out even further, Nshanyan told WNLA. “We still plan to expand, but we’re taking it one step at a time.” Bangin’ Buns has a planned opening of mid-November.
