The new restaurant will move into a 3,235 square-foot space with a total of 132 seats, including an 80 seat patio, according to a case filing for the restaurant submitted to the City of Los Angeles. The new Breakfast Republic will move into the ground floor of the Culver City Apartments at an unknown date. The overall 12th location takes over the former home of Le Pain Quotidien, a beloved cafe that closed down last year.

Owner Johan Engman first opened Breakfast Republic in 2015 out of its original location in North Park. The quirky cafe caught the attention of many San Diegans and quickly expanded to a second location the following year. The company began to expand across Southern California, most recently opening up a location in West Hollywood at 7141 Santa Monica Blvd. #500. Breakfast Republic has eight locations in San Deigo, one in Irvine and Costa Mesa, and soon two in Los Angeles.

Breakfast Republic is one of the many restaurant under the umbrella of  Rise and Shine Hospitality Group. Other restaurants from the group include Feast and Fareway, Eggies, Gaslamp Breakfast Company, and California Taco Club. Customers can expect to find all things breakfast at any of their Breakfast Republic locations. The company recently announced a new fall menu that runs until Dec. 20 and includes a vegan almond and fig french toast.

“Breakfast Republic is raising feathers in Southern California as a top spot to enjoy the most important meal of the day,” according to their website. “Serving tasty takes on American classics such as Oreo Pancakes, Shrimp & Grits and S’mores’ French Toast, BR is an innovative breakfast destination that locals and visitors will flock to when they’re’ in search of a fun and unpretentious place to begin the day.”
