Breakfast Republic — a boozy breakfast chain by Johan Engman’s Rise and Shine Hospitality Group — is opening yet another LA location at 1918 W Sunset Boulevard, the former home of popular diner Brite Spot. The growing eatery also recently opened its Long Beach location on Belmont Shores’ bustling 2nd Street.

Breakfast Republic was born in 2015 in San Diego’s North Park and joins concepts like Feast and Fareway, Eggies, Gaslamp Breakfast Company, and California Taco Club under the Rise and Shine umbrella.

The menu offers a little bit of everything from the classics to the creative, like the Shrimp and Ricotta Frittata and the Crab and Crawfish-Cake Benedict. Guests can also grub on pancake stacks, omelets, scrambles, and vegan options including a breakfast burrito and avocado toast, and wash it all down with cocktails, bloodies, kombucha, coffee, and more.

This will be the brand’s 18th location in Southern California and third in LA, and CEO Johan Engman enthusiastically shares that he is “Thrilled to be making [a] mark in Echo Park. We’re excited to become a cherished part of the area’s diverse cultural fabric, offering a cherished destination for brunch enthusiasts.”

The forthcoming breakfast boogie is slated to open in late November/early December of this year.
