Chef Josh Gil Has His Hands Full as Beverly Hills’ Mírame Closes

With two Level 8 concepts, a Menlo Park Mírate outpost, and a new LA location for Mírame on the way, Chef Josh Gill is busy, to say the least

On July 2, co-owners Josh Gil and Matthew Egan closed their Beverly Hills restaurant Mírame — a modern, elevated Mexican eatery — to “finalize plans to relocate the restaurant to another Los Angeles location.”

In an email to Eater LA, a representative for the team explained, “The team is honing in on mindfully finding new neighborhoods that properly align with its growth plan. The staff has been notified and ownership will be making every effort to retain Mírame employees at either Mírate or chef Josh Gil’s upcoming dining concepts at Level 8 at the Moxy.”

In addition to landing a new location for Mírame, it appears Gil and Egan are hard at work opening another rendition of Mírate in Menlo Park, per the Mírame website. The Los Feliz-based eatery takes a Cali approach to Mexican cuisine backed by a “farm to bar” cocktail program.

What’s more, the incoming Houston Hospitality dining and entertainment mecca, Level 8, will house two of Chef Gil’s venues, Mother of Pearl and Maison Kasai, set to debut this year at 1260 S Figueroa Street.
