The new restaurant, which is expected to open in December 2021, will sit at the top of the Hoxton Hotel’s rooftop. Cabra Los Angeles will feature Peruvian dishes similar to the Chicago location, Eater LA first reports. Customers can expect to find shareable dishes that take flavors from around the world. Some highlights from the Chiacgo menu include various ceviches, tiraditos, and empanadas. The new restaurant is also expected to feature an extensive beer, wine and cocktail list.

Cabra Los Angeles will be another venture for Chef Stephanie Izard, who competed in Top Chef and Iron Chef. She, along with Chicago’s Boka Restaurant Group, gets ready to replace the former Pilot space with Peruvian-inspired dishes by the end of the year. This will be the second Chicago-based restaurant to expand to Los Angeles under Izard. The well-respected chef recently opened Girl and the Goat in the Arts District last June.

“Cabra, which translates to “Goat” in Spanish, draws inspiration from Stephanie’s travels throughout Peru in Lima, Arequipa and Cusco – capturing some of the vast flavors and culture from her experiences abroad,” according to their Chicago website. “From the vibrant and colorful textures of the restaurant décor (some of which she even purchased in the markets of Peru and brought back for her home!), to the bright airy atmosphere that captures sunshine even on the cloudiest day, to the youthful and kind spirit that is a reflection of the hospitable people of Peru— Cabra offers a lively dining experience and a vibrant escape.”
