Since 2020, Creamy Boys has been a mobile operation. If you’re an LA local, you’ve probably encountered their trailer at events including Smorgasburg, Fiesta Hermosa and the Mar Vista Farmers’ Market. They also had a pop-up in Manhattan Beach for the summer of 2022.

Creamy Boys was started by Duncan Parsons, a New Zealand native who moved to the US to study at Duke University. After graduation he had an outlandish plan to tow an old funnel cake trailer from Arkansas to California and use it to sell the style ice cream he had grown up with in NZ. In 2022, Duncan’s best mate Joe Wedd, who helped dream up the idea, headed stateside to join Duncan on his mission. The Creamy Boys duo is ecstatic to put down roots in Hermosa Beach, marking the beginning of a new chapter for the kiwis’ adventure.

Creamy Boys is a made-to-order experience and they offer both dairy and non-dairy bases, making all their delights dairy- and vegan-friendly. Creamy Boys ice cream is made to order by blending a base of vanilla with fresh fruit of your choice, into a soft serve swirl – a popular style in New Zealand. In addition to the classics like mixed berry and strawberry, they’re also known for their version of the New Zealand flavor, hokey pokey. Honeycomb toffee, made in- house, blended into your ice cream and sprinkled on top.

Creamy Boys is located at 1136 Hermosa Ave, Hermosa Beach, CA 90254. The team is stoked to be in the heart of Hermosa, noting in a statement, “we love the community and feel lucky to have found such an epic spot”.
