Starbird is coming to Marina del Rey’s Villa Marina Center. A permit posted at the site of the old Men’s Wearhouse indicates that the fried chicken chain will be moving into 4325 Glencoe Ave C-3, Marina Del Rey, CA 90292, and their website lists a Marina del Rey location as “Coming Soon.”

The permit lists Chicken Coup, LLC as the property’s tenant, a company owned by Aaron Noveshen, Starbird’s founder and CEO. Nick Falco, vice president of operations for Starbird, confirmed that the MDR location will be company owned, but they are constantly looking to expand their franchise program. According to Franchising.com, the location is expected to open in early 2024.

Starbird’s menu features a variety of reasonably priced, gluten-free options and includes nuggets, sandwiches, salads, wings, tenders and house-made sauces. Their antibiotic-free, never frozen chicken is sustainably sourced from the Bay Area where the chain got its start. Gardenbird is the franchise’s proprietary plant-based protein, which can be substituted on any menu item.

The fast casual brand was established in 2016 by Noveshen, who also founded The Culinary Edge, a food and beverage innovation agency. Priding itself on its tech-enabled ordering resources, customers can earn a $10 reward after making their first purchase over $10 via the Starbird app, available on the Apple Store and the Google Play Store. They can also earn 10 stars for every $1 spent and can use stars to redeem rewards.
