Galaxy Bar Is The Star Wars-Themed ‘Interactive Speakeasy’ You Didn’t Know You Needed

World of Light Exhibitions next week will open Galaxy Bar, a Star Wars-themed “interactive speakeasy.”

Situated in the TCL Chinese Theatre, at 6925 Hollywood Blvd, the ticketed pop-up will have a limited run December 18, 2019, through January 23, 2020.

“Our latest concept is inspired by the upcoming new release of Star Wars,” World of Light writes on the Galaxy Bar website.

“Prepare to be immersed in an otherworldly atmosphere enjoying cocktails curated by mixologists that may or may not include ingredients from this planet.”

Tickets to access the 5,000-square-foot “interactive and visual cocktail experience” are $35 when purchased in advance and $40 at the door.

“To offer guests the best possible experience, we are limiting entry size by hourly increments,” according to a Galaxy Bar FAQ.

“This will allow our staff adequate time to maintain the integrity of each visit. Advanced tickets may be purchased to reserve a specific time or walk-ins are accepted based on availability.”

Galaxy Bar isn’t the first Star Wars-themed bar to grace Hollywood.

Scum & Villainy Cantina, your “neighborhood geek bar,” is a permanent and well-established version of what the pop-up seemingly wants to achieve over its short tenure.

World of Light is even using imagery that is the property of Scum & Villainy to promote its pop-up.

“The Galaxy Bar (with whom we have no affiliation with) is falsely promoting their establishment with photos of Scum & Villainy Cantina,” a rep for the Hollywood bar told What Now Los Angeles (WNLA).

It’s unclear how Scum & Villainy Cantina is dealing with the copyright issue but it seems the Darkside is strong with Galaxy bar.

WNLA has since removed the images from our coverage.

That first photo is from Scum & Villainy Cantina, a FREE bar located at 6377 Hollywood Blvd. At least credit the bar who’s photo you are using to sell some other establishment.

You are using a photo from Scum and Villany Cantina which is in no way associated with this pop up bar. Very deceiving.

The photo you’re now using is from Oga’s Cantina which is also not affiliated. This pop-up uses whatever media they feel like without regard.

This was the worst pop up I’ve ever attend. It looked liked a birthday party for a child with lazy parents.
