Film director Joe Russo assisted the brewery in its first location outside Georgia.

Craft beer company Creature Comforts Brewing Co. is making moves to expand to the West Coast for the first time. The location is in the Fashion District at 1124 San Julian Street.

The brewing company was co-founded by David Stein, Adam Beauchamp, and Chris Herron in 2014 in Athens, Georgia. The location in Los Angeles will offer a 3,000-square-foot taproom, a 10,000-square-foot production facility, and a 15-barrel brewhouse with a mix of 15-barrel and 60-barrel fermenters and brite tanks, a centrifuge, and a canning line. With this new location, the company will have the capacity to grow production to 15,000 barrels annually.

Already, Creature Comforts has two brewing locations in Athens. When it comes to why the brewery chose Los Angeles for its first location outside Georgia, Herron, CEO and co-owner, said in a statement, “Los Angeles stood out because of its large craft beer community, the success of numerous independent, small craft breweries, and California’s brewery-friendly state laws.”

The brewing company has previously collaborated with breweries in the greater Los Angeles region, such as Russian River, Sierra Nevada, Firestone Walker, and Alvarado Street.

Assisting the brewery in its expansion plans is Joe Russo of the famed Russo brothers, who directed films like “Avengers: Endgame,” “Infinity War,” and “Captain America: The Winter Soldier.”

The company reported in a press release that Russo “has been instrumental in helping the Creature Comforts team bring their brand to the West Coast.”
