SoCal Vibes Co. — a beer & grub hotspot hailing from Gardena — is opening an outpost at 1522 Abbot Kinney Blvd., Venice, CA, 90291, according to a liquor license filed with the state under Honest Abe Cidery, LLC. The space was formerly home to Shuhari Matcha Café.

SoCal Vibes’ maiden operation is located at 17812 S Main St. in Gardena, California. The brewery operates as a taproom and kitchen, serving over 40 unique (mostly) house-brewed ciders, meads, and craft beers as well as a slew of handheld coastal-city snacks. The food menu offers an array of poke bowls, burgers, tacos, starters, and sweet treats with seasonal specialties on the way.
What’s more, SoCal Vibes serves as home to “Honest Abe” ciders & meads, the oldest alcohol known to man. The company’s website explains its approach as follows:
“Our libations were born of necessity & resourcefulness and carried on for generations. The recipes are steeped in tradition and the tastes [are] refined by the warm Southern California sunshine. Made with fresh and local ingredients and Honest values…just the way you want it to be.”
With the mantra “Good Fun. Good Friends. Great Brews” in mind, SoCal Vibes’ website explains that while some of its beers are produced in-house and others off-site, the rest are, in fact, gifts from local surf buddies.
While it’s currently unclear if SoCal Vibes’ Abbot Kinney location will mimic its Gardena outpost (or, if the incoming store will replace the maiden operation), specifics are on the way. Stay tuned!
