Situated in a 2,500 square-foot space, at 13545 Ventura Boulevard in the former BLVD Kitchen space, the new Hanks Bagels — announced in October — joins an existing outpost in Burbank. The new location, decidedly larger than its first location, will act as a commissary kitchen of sorts where bagels can more easily be made and distributed as the company continues its expansion.

“This is generally a pretty tough time for our industry,” Trevor told What Now Los Angeles when the Sherman Oaks location was uncovered. “It’s exciting to be able to not only stay in business but we’re are able to grow a little bit and grow our capacity at this time. We feel extra grateful for this opportunity.”

In a novel departure from its bagel offerings, Trevor and Kelley could add challah to its menu. The duo, in the throes of opening the Sherman Oaks location this week, accidentally made challah bread, -er, a “test batch of not bagels” in honor of National Bagel Day last Friday. “Anywho, would you be interested in challah if we started making it?,” Hank’s Bagels asked its Instagram followers beside the bellow pictures. “Let us know, people. Smash that like button and comment down below!”
