The new restaurant, first reported by Eater LA, will move into the former home of Ma’am Sir and Sunset Sushi, a building that features a well-known Elliot Smith mural. Junkyard Dog, owned and operated by Adaline Hobbs and her father/ business partner Paul Boettcher, is currently under construction, with an expected opening date of late September or early October 2022. When it opens, customers can expect a rocker-esque aesthetic matched with dark faux lathers booths and a constant stream of music.

This isn’t the first business for the daughter-father duo. Hobbs is the owner of Real Food Daily, a premier organic, a plant-based restaurant in Pasadena and West Hollywood. On the other hand, Boettcher operates several Los Angeles bars and restaurants, including Ye Olde King’s Head and Busby’s. The two industry veterans will work together to open this new 100 percent vegan-friendly restaurant, which will have a back patio and plenty of TVs to watch sports.

Considering most of Hobb’s restaurants focus on plant-based foods, customers can expect a similar format with Junkyard Dog. The chef will start with a full-service breakfast starting at 8 am before taking a quick break to reset before the dinner service that starts at 5 pm. Some dishes featured at this new restaurant will include some alternative “meats” such as Impossible meat and various tofu, potato, and vegetable entrees.
