A section of the new restaurant will take over Tintorera, a Mexican restaurant that closed down before the pandemic.

The replaced portion will be transformed into a 3,500 square-foot patio lined with palm trees where customers can dine.

The patio will have about 100 exterior seats, according to a case filing for the restaurant submitted to the City of Los Angeles. The patio will be attached to a 2,000 square-foot restaurant, including 52 interior seats. De Buena Planta will be open from 11:00 am to 2:00 am.

This restaurant comes from the founder of The Butcher’s Daughter, Heather Tierney.

She started the plant-centric juice bar and cafe in New York’s Nolita neighborhood in 2012 before moving to Los Angeles in 2016. Since the move, the New York-native has opened three locations in New York and one in Venice, Los Angeles.

The new De Buena Planta is slated to open in October 2021.

Correction: An earlier version of this article listed the incoming restaurant as Manoukian Restaurant. Although official filings with the City indicate that will be the name of the eatery, it will in fact be De Buena Planta, according to a rep for the eatery.
