Met Him at a Bar has applied for a permit to expand its current 1,600 square foot restaurant at 801 South La Brea Avenue into the adjacent 1,245 square foot retail space that had formerly been fitness center F5 Strength & Muay Thai.
The proposed project would expand Met Him at a Bar to a total of 2,845 square feet and would allow the popular brunch & dinner spot to seat 82 indoors and 18 outdoors. With the expansion, the restaurant would also extend its hours from 7 a.m. to midnight Sunday through Thursday, and from 7 a.m. to 1 a.m. Friday and Saturday.
This is exciting news for locals, who have fallen in love with the food, drinks, and story behind the neighborhood pasta bar. Owners and life partners Vincent Kinne and Mindy Voranartsomdee met at a bar and just a few years later, opened the cafe Met Her at a Bar. The sister restaurant Met Him at a Bar followed a couple of years later. The two corner restaurants, appropriately and adorably, are just across the street from one another.
After coffee and Belgium waffles at the Met Her at a Bar, authentic Southern Italian pastas and vinos are waiting for you just across the street at Met Him at a Bar. The two simply go together.
