The new 1,726 square-foot restaurant will have 48 interior seats plus an additional 28 seats on their 439 square-foot patio. The restaurant has proposed hours of 11 am to midnight from Monday through Friday and 9 am to midnight on Saturday and Sunday. Overboard will serve the specialties and favorites of “low-country” cooking in South Carolina, emphasizing southern-style seafood. Although Queen St. is the name listed on the case filings, Co-owner Holly Fox tells What Now Los Angeles “the final name is still in flux.”

Last Word Hospitality was founded in 2014 and currently operates three other restaurants, Red Dog Saloon, Found Oyster, and Same Same Thai. There’s no word as to when their newest restaurant will open, but we will likely see it sometime in 2022. The latest restaurant will use the success of Found Oyster and integrate chef/partner Ari Kolender’s South Carolina upbringing into the menu. Customers can expect to find an expansive wine program, wood-fired cooking, and an elevated service style.

“The business’ namesake is the main commercial corridor of Charleston, Queen St., anchored by the iconic pineapple fountain and gorgeous colonial lake,” according to a case filing for the restaurant submitted to the City of Los Angeles. “Queen St. Diner will transport Angelenos to the bustling Carolina street with taste, smell, sight, and feel. Overboard will quickly establish itself as one of the most enjoyable restaurants in North East LA.”

CORRECTION: A previous article listed the new restaurant name as Queen St. Diner. The company recently filed for a liquor license under the name Overboard at the same address.
