The brand new Asian-California fusion restaurant will replace the Pondahan Restaurant sometime in 2022, according to co-owner Yourna Kusuma. She, along with co-owner Steve Yutani, is excited to bring healthy Asian cuisine to the city of West Covina. This is their first restaurant together, and it’s is backed behind the Rysemerge Corporation. The new restaurant will move into the exterior of the West Covina Parkway Plaza.

Kusuma wasn’t able to disclose too much information due to processing paperwork. They recently applied for a liquor license through the Alcoholic Beverage Control, meaning the restaurant will likely provide alcoholic drinks such as sake. Kusuma tells What Now Los Angeles customers can expect a variety of Asian cuisine, including multiple rice and ramen options, as the name suggests. The restaurant will also offer a few dessert options.

The restaurant will move into a busy West Covina shopping center with plenty of other food options nearby, including Volcano Grill and Sushiholics. There’s another Ramen & Rice in Michigan, but this is a separate entity. Kusuma says she and Yutani will create a healthy menu with fresh ingredients and flavors.
