The company’s newest location will move into the Brentwood Town Center, following Parakeet’s Los Angeles debut in Beverly Hills later this year. Owner Jonathan Goldwasser tells What Now Los Angeles he hopes to open this new location in early 2023. The new 2,134-square-foot site will join several other eateries already in the shopping center, including Blue Bottle Coffee, Le Pain Quotidien, Nagao Sushi, and other retailers. Parakeet Cafe will supply the area with even more healthy options.
Parakeet Cafe takes pride in serving organic, whole foods that feature ethically sourced ingredients. The company has something for everyone, from non-dieters, vegans, and vegetarians to those focusing on paleo, keto, or gluten-free diets. Some popular dishes include acai bowls, avocado toast, and surfer burrito, with charred broccoli, cauliflower “chorizo” (walnuts, onions, garlic, chipotle), eggs, potatoes, spinach tortilla, and salsa macha. The restaurant also offers plenty of drink options, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic.
“Good food needs a good companion,” according to the company’s website. “Our coffee program consists of drinks that will compliment our menu and our philosophy, ethically sourced beans, house-made syrups, wellness lattes made with adaptogenic herbs and mushrooms, and alternative milks. Organic, herbal teas bring a little exotic wonder while our local kombucha brewers bring the probiotics into the mix.”
Goldwasser launched Parakeet Cafe in San Diego’s La Jolla neighborhood in 2017 with co-owner Carol Roizen. The two expanded throughout San Diego County, opening locations in Little Italy, Del Mar, Coronado, and La Jolla Cove. Parakeet Cafe made news earlier this year by announcing its Los Angeles debut coming to Beverly Hills at 206 S Beverly Dr. Once the new Brentwood location opens, the company will have launched seven sites in six years, meaning we will likely see more coming to the area in the future.
