On a trip to the 10,000-square-foot space Tuesday, at 10250 Santa Monica Blvd, the project’s General Contractor told What Now Los Angeles that his team will “hand over” the finished space to Sugar Factory as early as next week, concluding the buildout.

Once Sugar Factory has possession of the finished space, final preparations will be made including bringing in furniture and fixtures.

And then, it’s off to the races with the targeted opening of Sunday, March 1, he said.

It’s been nearly three years in the making for the eatery and confectionary shop which in 2017 announced its intentions to open its “Candyland” in Westfield Century City joining anchors like Equinox, Eataly, and The Container Store (the restaurant’s nearest neighbor.)

Sugar Factory will likely hold a star-studded Grand Opening as it has in the past for its more than 24 locations worldwide including recently in Atlanta which debuted with Nick Cannon as the evening’s DJ.

As with the Atlanta debut, the Sugar Factory team holds its opening details under tightly sealed lips and will most likely wait until right before to announce any event specifics.

Originally founded in Las Vegas, the Sugar Factory has gained notoriety for its “Couture Pops, a sparkly lollipop that serves as a fashionable accessory,” and its over-the-top desserts, and candy-infused cocktails.

Sugar Factory isn’t new to Los Angeles, however.

An outpost opened in Hollywood in 2013 as a retail kiosk outside of the TCL Chinese Theatre, at 6925 Hollywood Blvd.

And even though it’s been closed for years, Sugar Factory still lists the location on its website.
