Sugar Factory — an eccentric, sugar-fueled fever dream created by Charissa Davidovici — is opening a new location at 1190 Nagoya Way, San Pedro, CA 90731, the former San Pedro Public Market and soon-to-be West Harbor food hall and waterfront park.

Davidovici’s creation opened back in 2009 as a candy store before the former schoolteacher expanded it into a candy store-restaurant combo.
Today, the factory hosts a slew of celebrity guests; offers larger-than-life saccharine treats; boasts dozens of locations in some of the world’s most cosmopolitan cities, including Las Vegas, New York City, Bahrain, Chicago, Miami, and Orlando; and even offers a Sin City wedding venue called The Chocolate Lounge “where chocolate lovers’ fantasies are turned into reality in a space embellished with gold and caramel tones and floor-to-ceiling windows.”
Per the company’s website, The Chocolate Lounge includes a “whimsical Candyland-themed 14-seat horse-drawn carousel surrounded by 5,000 light-up candy flowers, oversized cupcakes, lollipops, and animal sculptures that overlook spectacular views of The Strip.”
As for the incoming Sugar Factory’s impending LA home, the West Harbor development will include 42 acres and one mile of direct waterfront access; over 150,000 square feet of retail, restaurants, and entertainment; four acres of outdoor park and recreation space; harbor-side excursions and attractions; a huge courtesy dock to accommodate boats; and a 6,200-seat amphitheater (under environmental review).
West Harbor is predicted to be open for business in 2024.
