According to a planning document filed by Co-owner Bruce Horwitz, The Tasting Kitchen at 1633 Abbot Kinney Boulevard in the heart of one of Cali’s most famous cities is preparing to reopen its doors following a small fire in March.

While the initial announcement of the restaurant’s closure via Instagram stated that the team hoped to return only a month later, that plan never seemed to actualize. Recently, however, Horwitz confirmed with What Now Los Angeles that while there is no definitive relaunch date, he and his crew are looking to open doors later this year.

The Tasting Kitchen, fronted by Chef Travis Passerotti of the newly opened sandwich shop Tre Mani, is a “contemporary Italian restaurant with a New American farm-to-table heritage,” explains its website. Using traditional and classic regional diction with thoughtful, local growers, TTK aims to guide guests through the ever-changing landscape of Southern Californian cuisine.

The menu, though seasonal, has featured notable items such as ravioli with wintergreens; agnolotti with short rib, sweet potato, and chestnut; and rosalba radicchio with grapefruit and Campari.
