Amazon Fresh grocery store in Cerritos, CA announced it’s grand opening of it’s 39,000 square foot first full-size grocery store in California offering Just Walk Out technology. This location is the ninth Amazon Fresh store to open in SoCal and will offer low-priced groceries to the community, in addition to bringing hundreds of high-quality jobs with a starting wage of $15/hour. The Cerritos Amazon Fresh will also help support the community by donating surplus items from the store to local food banks, with the equivalent of approximately 9,000 meals donated to date.
The store will use Just Walk Out technology, which adds convenience to customers’ shopping experience by giving them the option to skip the checkout line. Customers who opt for Just Walk Out Shopping can enter the store in three ways: They can scan the In-Store QR code in their Amazon app, use Amazon One to scan their palm, or insert a credit or debit card linked to their Amazon account. Each option will open the Just Walk Out gates. Once inside the store, customers can shop as they normally would. Anything they take off the shelf is automatically added to their virtual cart, and anything put back on the shelf comes out of their virtual cart. At the end of their trip, customers shopping with the Just Walk Out experience simply scan or insert their entry method again to exit. Customers can opt to shop using traditional checkout lanes, staffed by employees.
Customers shopping Amazon Fresh will find an assortment of national brands, produce, meat, seafood and prepared foods made fresh in-store every day.
Customers shopping the Cerritos location can take advantage of a coupon for $10 off an order of $20 or more, or $20 off an order of $50 or more found in the weekly Amazon Fresh circular for shopping trips made at the store until November 28.
The Cerritos Amazon Fresh is located at 11340 South St. and is open daily from 7 a.m. – 10 p.m. The store will be open on Thanksgiving Day from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m.
