In the main brewhouse, you’ll find a diverse offering of light and dark beers. The brewery takes its name from Brewer Ben Farber’s childhood nickname, bringing a casual and familial tone to the space. Farber introduces old world brews and natural fermentation techniques, highlighting some traditional Belgian and English styles.

Order a flight to taste a variety of unique options like the Other Lover, a Belgian-inspired Session, the Backyard Basil Saison, an herbaceous Farmhouse Ale, or the show stopping Desert Champagne Gose, a tart bright-pink beer with prickly pear, sage, and salt. For traditional beer lovers, try the Friendly Persuasion IPA, a malt-forward “West Coast-ish IPA” as they call it, or a Mr. Fluffy’s Pale, an English Bitter inspired ale named after their friendly Border Collie.

Rosetter explains there’s something for everyone at Benny Boy. IPAs for the folks who want them, wine for non-beer drinkers, and ciders for those looking for gluten-free options.

Across the patio, you’ll find the cider house. An intimate taproom with communal tables and a centerpiece apple tree adding to the all-natural vibes evoked by the beverages served there. You’ll find a plentiful mix of ciders ranging from dry to semi-sweet, with most of their blends coming in over 7% ABV. Made from single-variety apples grown in Northern California or a blend of cider apples and fruits like pineapple or pomegranate. Staunch beer aficionados are bound to appreciate the craftsmanship put into these house ciders; they’re a must try.

For wine drinkers, you’ll find a bright Pinot Noir and Chardonnay on tap. Their “Wild Series” natural wines are made in collaboration with Pali Wine Co.

Benny Boy Brewing is located at 1821 Daly Street in LA’s Lincoln Heights neighborhood. Hours of operation are Tuesdays-Wednesdays 4-10 p.m., Thursdays 4-11 p.m., Fridays 3 p.m.-midnight, Saturdays 11 a.m.-midnight and Sundays 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Closed on Mondays.
