Non-profit Little Tokyo Towers Corporation‘s plans for the 16-story building include improvements to the exterior path of travel and changes to 296 of 301 units’ floor plans. All but five units will have balconies reduced and a larger interior floor area.

The community was built in 1975 thanks to a HUD Section 236 loan made possible thanks to the non-profit sponsorship by Japanese-American organizations, according to Royal Property Management, the community’s property manager.

The building is owned by Little Tokyo Towers Corporation.

Other companies involved in the project include Basis Architecture & Consulting Inc., as well as consulting firm The Santa Maria Group, which is the project representative, plans show.

Other renovation plans include landscaping changes, changes to the exterior facade, unit interior improvements, and a remodeling of ground-floor common spaces.
