This new restaurant is set to open as a PLANTA Cocina, compared to a PLANTA Queen or a standard PLANTA. There is no set opening date for this restaurant, but a representative from the company says they are more than a month away. The exact location of this restaurant is also unknown. What is known is that this is the first of two locations coming to California, with a PLANTA coming to Brentwood, as well as SOHO and Chicago. Currently, the company has four other plant-based restaurants in the U.S. and Canada.

Besides its delicious reimagined plant-based menu, sourced from local companies, these restaurants are known for their elegant design and strong values. Founder and CEO Steven Salm and Co-founder and Executive Chef David Lee pride themselves on being humble, authentic, and sustainable while doing what’s right for the environment. One example is striving to operate in a paperless and reduced-waste environment, eliminating paper cheques, printed materials, and one-time-use water bottles and coffee cups.

“Every PLANTA experience is a step toward a greener future,” according to the company’s website. “Our dedication to environmental sustainability is interwoven throughout every part of our business. From our sourcing to our restaurant design, our packaging, to our partnerships, we seek to put more back into the world than we take. Additionally, we ensure all of our produce and supplies are delivered in reusable containers to reduce waste, and our to-go packaging is made from 100% compostable materials. PLANTA is for the planet.”
