The coffee shop and cafe is set to replace the now-shuttered Blue Bottle Coffee in the historic Jensen’s Recreation Center building, at 1712 Sunset Blvd.

While an exact opening date is TBD, an early-2020 debut in the Echo Park space is likely, an employee with Silverback Coffee over the phone Monday told What Now Los Angeles.

Blue Bottle closed its doors on December 5, 2018, and the space has sat vacant since.

Silverback Coffee’s flagship and lone location is in DTLA, at 2301 E. 7th Street #B224.

Its mission is to participate in the “rebuilding of Rwanda and its wildlife, and to giving back to the people who were affected in the genocide of 1994 by providing the world with the highest quality coffee and tea,”
