Silverlake Ramen Arrives in Monterey Park

Ramen is having a moment. And foodies everywhere will ensure it carries on indefinitely. Luckily for Angelenos, one of the city’s top-rated ramen shops is expanding to meet the demand.

Silverlake Ramen, the LA-based ramen eatery founded by Chef Tomas Aono and Jitaek Lim, has been making headlines since its inception in 2012. With 16 ramen shops currently open across California, Washington, Texas and North Carolina, the noodle chain has ten more on the queue.

Franchise Owners Aaron and Grace Kim will launch a new location of Silverlake Ramen at 2168-2170 S Atlantic Blvd in Monterey Park–an ideal spot for a noodle shop with East Los Angeles College just across the street. Students and locals will be able to indulge in a comforting bowl of delicious noodle soup perfect for lunch dates and late study nights.

Silverlake Ramen offers an array of delectable ramen including The Classic Tonkatsu (creamy pork broth, bean sprouts, spinach, green onion, seaweed, black garlic oil, egg) and The Garlic Truffle (a blend of creamy pork and vegetable broth, garlic, truffle oil, kale, mushrooms, black pepper, seaweed, and seasoned egg served with thick noodles). The ramen shop also offers tasty appetizers like Creamy Broccolini, Pork Bun, and Gyoza as well as a delicious variety of rice bowls including the Soboro Bowl (ground chicken with scrambled egg, green onion and red ginger over rice) and the Chicken Karaage Bowl (Japanese-style fried chicken, teriyaki sauce, spicy aoili, green onion and red ringer over rice).

Although an official opening date has not yet been announced, you’ll know Silverlake Ramen has opened in Monterey Park when you see a long line of eager college students on S Atlantic Blvd. We’ll be sure to keep you posted as we learn more about its opening.
