The space, which previously served as a Planet Smoothie branch, sits nicely positioned at the busy Charville corner which plays home to a slew of small shops.

Following the chain’s 90212 debut, Cohen says Sweetfin will touchdown in Long Beach on the city’s bustling and restaurant-heavy 2nd Street in Belmont Shore.

These two incoming venues will make 16 total LA locations for the fast-growing fine-casual concept. Additionally, Sweetfin boasts two stores in San Diego (La Jolla Village Drive and Paseo Place) and three in Orange County (Costa Mesa, Newport Beach, and HB).

Founded in 2013 and inspired by the freshness and flavor of authentic Hawaiian poke, Sweetfin was born of Cohen, Nathan, and Nestadt’s affinity for the dish and their love of California’s culinary creativity.

The burgeoning seafood purveyor offers an all-gluten-free and vegan/vegetarian-friendly menu with sustainably caught fish arranged alongside healthy and nutritious pairings like miso sesame shoyu sauce, red onion, togarashi, avocado, seaweed salad, bean sprouts, pickled ginger, and more. Guests on the go can also order all the fixings of a delicious bowl wrapped in a burrito instead, making for a healthy and handheld meal.

What’s more, Sweetfin provides Plant-Based Bowls, BYOB Bowls, Health Goal Bowls featuring cauliflower rice or forbidden rice, and Functional Bowls like the Brain Booster: sustainable salmon and tofu topped with a homemade miso sesame shoyu sauce, avocado, chopped kale, bean sprouts, sundried tomatoes, macadamia nuts, and served over a kelp noodle slaw.
