The new restaurant will be owned and operated by Denver-based hospitality group Sage Restaurant Concepts and is expected to open in Fall 2022. When this restaurant opens, customers can expect various California classics complemented with an ocean breeze. Built on a menu of fresh, local flavors, The Surfing Fox will blend the best of modern California and vintage surf culture. The restaurant will be split between a spacious outdoor patio and the inside, which features a modern minimalistic interior and light and beige colors.

The new restaurant is a part of a much more extensive renovation of the former Wyndham Santa Monica at the Pier, which has closed for these renovations. It is unknown exactly when the hotel will open, but it will likely be around the same time as the restaurant. The former hotel featured the Lobby Restaurant & Bar but was forced to close due to COVID-19 restrictions. Now, Sage Restaurant Concepts, led by CEO Walter Isenberg, is getting ready to replace the restaurant with a new laid-back restaurant that is still full of class.

“The Pierside Hotel inspires an easy come, easy go kind of getaway, where you can travel from bed to beach in a heartbeat,” according to the hotel’s website. “Venture beyond a surface-level stay and wade a little deeper into Santa Monica’s laid-back way of life, where the views, vibes, and vibrant culture of our coastal city shines through inside and out.”
