Whittier To Get One of 200 Dave’s Hot Chicken Locations Planned For 2021

An outpost in Fairfax, the fifth local store for the rapidly-growing franchise, opened in early-September.

Dave’s Hot Chicken launched its first brick-and-mortar in East Hollywood in 2017 and soon the fast-growing Nashville hot chicken franchise will swell across North America. Co-Founder Arman Oganesyan told What Now Los Angeles that there are over 200 franchised locations currently in the process for markets like Chicago, Houston, Las Vegas, and even Canada.

Locally, the next Dave’s Hot Chicken is slated for a 4,626-square-foot, ground-floor space in Whittier, at 10712 Laurel Avenue. The opening is expected in mid-to-late 2021 as part of a new ground-up development that will also house a Sonic. It will be the sixth SoCal Dave’s Hot Chicken, opening on the heels of a Fairfax outpost which debuted earlier this month. The other stores are in San Diego, North Hollywood, East Hollywood, and soon, in Glendale.

Oganesyan credits the success of Dave’s Hot Chicken to this: “There’s something there for everybody.” The menu at Dave’s Hot Chicken entails fried chicken tenders and sliders with sides like mac and cheese, kale slaw, and cheese fries. The tenders are offered at seven heat levels, from “no spice” to “reaper.”

“Dave’s Hot Chicken continues to blow people’s minds with an insane combination of craveable hot chicken, unique spice combinations and best-in-class hospitality,” Bill Phelps, CEO of Dave’s Hot Chicken, said in a press release earlier this month. “We’re looking forward to opening at least one more Dave’s Hot Chicken restaurant by the end of the year, as we gear up for a big 2021.”
