Bull and Butterfly Will ‘Soon Be Opening’ in Playa Vista

With hiring now underway, an opening for the steakhouse from the founders of Lemonade is right around the corner in Runway.

Modern steakhouse Bull & Butterfly could open any day now in Runway Playa Vista, at 12746 Jefferson Blvd. The modern steakhouse, originally pinned for a fall 2019 debut which was pushed to spring 2020, is now hiring for its back of house team. An exact first day has not been disclosed but Bull & Butterfly “will soon be opening” its doors, according to a recently-published hiring advert. When a restaurant starts hiring its hourly workers, it is typically in the final stretch of opening, weeks if not days away. Reps for the restaurant on multiple occasions did not respond to a request for comment by What Now Los Angeles this week.

“Our restaurant is updating the steakhouse concept with a seaside-casual attitude that celebrates the traditions of the ranch-style cuisines of SoCal and Baja, all in a fun and festive atmosphere,” the advert states. “Our food is accented by unique and value-driven wines, as well as creative and regionally inspired versions of classic cocktails.”

Bull & Butterfly is currently seeking line and prep cooks, and dishwashers, “in order to forge out our opening culinary team” at the incoming Silicon Beach eatery.

Los Angeles-based chain Lemonade’s Founders Alan and Heidi Jackson are behind Bull & Butterfly. The restaurant’s open-kitchen will be helmed by chef Ben Ford. Soon after Bull & Butterfly opens, Runway will get a food hall-style concept called Free Market which will house many stalls including one from Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams.
