The company’s 20th Los Angeles location will move into the former home of Creamistry in the El Camino Shopping Center, just off the 101 freeway, later this year. The new site will sit between a beauty salon and The Boiling Crab. It’s an excellent addition to the strip mall, which features several other health-forward businesses such as Bristol Farms and Health Nut. This is the second Los Angeles location coming in the second half of 2022, with another site in Los Feliz planned to open in Fall 2022.
This is just the beginning for Mendocino Farms, which has locations throughout California and Texas. By the end of the year, the company will have new locations in Anaheim, Encinitas, Santa Clara, Plano, and Preston Oaks. Next year, Mendocino Farms has plans to open in Aliso Viejo and San Juan Capistrano. The company will have at least 46 locations in California and 10 in Texas by the end of 2023
When these new locations open, customers can expect chef-driven sandwiches and salads made with fresh ingredients. When co-founders Mario Del Pero and Ellen Chen created the concept in 2003, they wanted to create an elevated dining experience offering much more than just good food. The husband-and-wife team opened their first unit two years later on Bunker Hill in Downtown Los Angeles. Now, CEO Kevin Miles continues to expand the company.
“We first opened our doors in 2005 as a family business with the vision to offer much more than great food—we wanted to build a welcoming gathering place where happiness is always an order away,” according to the company’s website. “And we’ve been inviting our guests to Eat Happy ever since.”
