Michelle’s Country Diner Sign Comes Down As Hotville Chicken Eyes Black Friday Opening

November 29 opening is contingent on 'final' permitting.

Pop-up-turned-brick-and-mortar hot chicken eatery Hotville Chicken & Chops LA is eyeing a Black Friday debut.

Final preparations are being made converting the 2,760-square-foot Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza space, at 4070 Marlton Avenue, into Hotville, including taking down the signage for Michelle’s Country Diner, the restaurant’s predecessor.

Crews could be spotted removing the lettering Wednesday via photos and video posted by Owner Kim Prince to the Hotville Facebook page.

The November 29, 2019 opening is contingent on “final” permitting, What Now Los Angeles learned Friday.

Prince is hot chicken royalty by relation to James Thornton Prince, founder of Hot Chicken Shack Nashville circa 1945.

Ahead of the brick-and-mortar, Prince operated a Chinatown Hotville pop-up.

Hotville isn’t the only restaurant looking to dominate LA’s hot chicken scene.

Dave’s Hot Chicken recently doubled to two locations and by mid-2020 will have five outposts including a restaurant in San Diego.
